ABOUT: The Dawson Creek Choral Society started operating in 2014 and was incorporated as a non-profit society in 2015. Our mission is to CREATE a culture of lifelong love for music; to CONNECT with members, their families, and our community; to DISCOVER our collective voices in song; and to INSPIRE harmony in the world around us.
At DCCS we believe in inclusivity and providing a welcoming, safe space for all. DCCS Musical Theatre is all about building multi-faceted performers and future community leaders. Program activities include every aspect of a theatrical production from basic skills and auditions, to rehearsals that culminate in dazzling public performances!
Synopsis
This original musical written especially for young actors explores the world of Giants who live above the clouds. Ever since they left Earth a long time ago, the Giants have made a life up above where their job is to keep the sky beautiful. They polish the stars, poke the clouds to let it rain and paint the sunsets. But there is one curious Giant who wonders what life is like on Earth, so she steals a key to the locked up “beanstalk” and embarks on an adventure down below!

It has been a privilege to work with such an incredible group of young performers. From the first rehearsal to tonight’s performance, these kids have shown dedication and growth that has truly inspired me. They have worked so hard to bring this production to life and I could not be prouder of what they have accomplished.
I would like to extend my deepest thanks to our amazing crew, whose hard work behind the scenes made everything possible. A special thanks to our backstage volunteers, Mia Sandhu and Gracie McLain. Thank you to Debbie Longley for set design work and expertise. Also to our backstage parent volunteers, Kate Hanen, Claire Corcoran, and Amy Woods and our concession organizer Lindsay Dufresne.
