In our Theatre Training Lab, young performers will explore acting techniques, stage movement and presence, and vocal skills (both singing and speaking). With a goal for tuning up foundational musical theatre skills, students will have a space to experiment, make mistakes, and overcome obstacles while becoming strong cast members for their next production.

Program Details

AGES

8 to 15 years 

This program is designed as a preparatory program for the TLA Homeschool group’s 2027 musical production. Some students will be accepted outside the posted age range, but please contact us before registering and paying if your child is outside of this range. 

SEASON

Program begins in September and ends mid-December

CLASS TIMES

Fridays at 1:00 to 2:30 PM 

There may be some weeks where younger students are excused at 2:00 so that the older students may try out some more advanced games or techniques. Any changes to the schedule will be communicated well in-advance.

PERFORMANCES

This is not a performance-based program.

However, we would like to rehearse one or two numbers to be featured in our Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol dramatization in early December. These numbers would feature some stage movement, singing, and a few lines given out to select students.

Flexible payment options and sibling rates (at 70%) are available. Fees cover any song licensing, instruction, take-home and in-class materials, and basic administration.

The full program cost is $350 and $245 for additional siblings.

Dawson Creek Arts & Wellness Fund

Local funding is available for children and youth up to age 24.
